Operational Purchaser in Neuver Maritime AS
The main responsibility of a supply chain department is to ensure the efficient and effectiveflow of goods, services, and information from suppliers to customers. This involves managing procurement, inventory, and logistics to meet production and delivery schedules. The department also focuses on building and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers to ensure quality and reliability. Additionally, it aims to identify and implement cost-saving opportunities while maintaining high standards of quality and compliance.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Oversee the procurement process, including sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing materials, goods, and services to meet the company's operational needs.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, ensuring timely delivery and quality of goods and services.
- Serve as the primary contact for suppliers, overseeing all required deliveries during tender and project phases.
- Oversee purchasing activities, including participation in supplier sourcing, selection, cost evaluation, and negotiations for materials, services, and equipment.
- Monitor and manage inventory levels to ensure optimal stock levels and minimize excess inventory.
- Ensure timely and accurate reporting of savings, cost avoidance, and other procurement-related KPIs.
- Contribute to sourcing new suppliers and ensure proper qualification and documentation.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations and maintain accurate procurement records and documentation.
- Actively participate in project and supply chain meetings to identify and mitigate supply chain risks.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement strategies to reduce procurement costs while maintaining quality standards.
- Work closely with other departments, such as production, logistics, and finance, to ensure seamless operations and address any procurement-related issues.
Desired Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or supply chain or equivalent relevant experience.
- Technical understanding/competence is an advantage.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Procurement, Category Management or Supply Chain.
- Strong negotiation skills and commercial understanding to ensure the best commercial conditions and qualities for your projects
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities with the capacity to manage high- pressure periods.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Engaged, proactive and commercially driven with a strong ability to prioritize and deliver results.
- Fluent in English.
