Technical Product Manager - Rudder
As Product Manager you will be accountable for managing our Rudder products throughout their lifecycle, defining and establishing a clear and improved product definition in all stages from sales, delivery and service. Responsible for governing and securing product performance including safety, quality and cost in meeting customer requirements and expectations. The role is accountable for maintenance activities, resolving product issues and product development.
Responsibilities
- The role includes responsibility for an existing team of about 10, including Engineering to Order and Product Development.
- The role will work closely with the Product Manager – Rudder & Steering Gears, Sales and Marketing as well as Sales Support to align and establish a strategy and roadmap for the Rudder and Steering Gear system.
- Together with the Hydrodynamic team make sure to be in front both for maneuvering capacities and propulsion efficiency.
- Together with the Products leadership team, benchmarking customer and competitor solutions as well as working towards sustainable and digital product solutions is an ongoing responsibility in this position.
- Additional close collaboration with the supply chain team, key suppliers and partners in order to improve and monitor performance throughout the product lifecycle.
- Handle the personnel manager role for the engineering Rudder team in Norway.
Qualifications and experience
- To succeed in this role, knowledge about product management is required. In addition, you will have a degree in engineering (or equivalent field). It is high beneficial that your engineering experience come from previous work within the marine industry, dealing with customers and operational requirements across commercial applications.
- Given regular communication with both international customers and colleagues is a big part of this role, a high level of both oral and written English is necessary.
